Viking Character in The Last Kingdom
-
Description
-
Screenshot from The Last Kingdom (2015–2022), a historical television drama based on Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories novels. Set in ninth- and tenth-century England, the series depicts the conflicts between Anglo-Saxon kingdoms and Scandinavian settlers and warriors during the Viking Age. The image shows a male character wearing a fur hat and heavy clothing, with a long grey beard, facial tattoos or markings, and prominent earrings. Although the series draws on historical events and figures, its character designs combine elements of Viking-Age material culture with modern interpretations and conventions of historical fantasy.
